Adityanath Highlights Impact of Political Islam on Hindu Faith

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the overlooked consequences of political Islam on Hinduism, stating that while colonial histories are frequently discussed, the ideological battle against political Islam remains largely neglected. Speaking at an event in Gorakhpur on Tuesday, Adityanath asserted that major historical figures like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Maharana Pratap fought against the repercussions of political Islam, which he claims struck the Sanatan Dharma a significant blow.

At the ‘Vichar-Parivar Kutumb Sneh Milan’ and ‘Deepotsav Se Rashtroutsav’ programs, Adityanath reflected on the “dangers of political Islam” and insisted that discussions around India’s colonial past should equally address the ideological challenges posed by political Islam. He remarked, “Our ancestors waged major struggles against political Islam, yet this aspect of history remains largely overlooked.”

In his address, Adityanath praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for its significant contributions, particularly regarding the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He contended that while political narratives may focus on British and French colonialism, the impact of political Islam on Hindu faith deserves equal attention.

“Great warriors like Veer Shivaji and Maharana Pratap stood against this ideology,” he added. Adityanath criticized political parties such as the Samajwadi Party and Congress, stating their opposition to the temple’s construction glosses over the sacrifices by RSS volunteers. “While the Sangh faced lathi charges and bullets for the temple’s cause, it now stands as a testament to their efforts,” he claimed.

Additionally, the chief minister emphasized that despite modern societal shifts, the fight against political Islam continues through various masks. During his speech, he informed the audience of Uttar Pradesh’s recent decision to ban the sale of Halal-certified products, alleging that the proceeds from such sales contribute to practices like conversion and terrorism.

Adityanath outlined five transformative pillars integral to the RSS’ centenary celebrations: social harmony, family values, environmental protection, self-reliance with indigenous goods, and enhanced civic responsibility. He described these elements as crucial for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ or developed India.

“A developed society requires a leading community, with the government in a supportive role,” he asserted, stressing the importance of social cohesion in nation-building. His remarks came amidst a backdrop of ongoing debates around cultural identity and social responsibility in contemporary India.

As political discussions continue to swirl around the significance of historical narratives, Adityanath’s statements call for renewed attention to the influence of political Islam, urging listeners to scrutinize its implications on Hindu beliefs and the fabric of Indian society.

This event not only commemorated a century of RSS influence but also reignited conversations about India’s historical struggles against alternate ideologies, emphasizing the need for collective memory that embraces all facets of the past.
