Jammu, September 30: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has announced new school timings for government and private institutions in the Jammu Division, starting from October. This change addresses seasonal adjustments and aims to enhance students’ learning environment throughout the academic year.
According to an official order, schools operating in the Summer Zone will follow the new timing of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM during October. However, from November onwards, the schedule will adjust to 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, reflecting the shift in daylight hours.
For schools located within the Jammu Municipal Corporation limits and surrounding urban areas, the timing will remain unchanged at 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The decision considers the unique circumstances of urban environments, ensuring they accommodate students’ needs.
In contrast, schools in the Winter Zone will operate from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, beginning October 1. This adjustment aligns with the area’s weather patterns, providing a framework for effective teaching and learning.
Authorities have issued a firm warning to institutions, stating that strict action will be taken against any school that deviates from these newly established timings. This directive reaffirms the Directorate’s commitment to maintaining educational standards across the Jammu Division.
