Doda, October 31, 2025:
To commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) and to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, Police Station Assar organized a “Run for Unity” event early this morning at 0800 hrs. The event was held under the broader campaign of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat to inspire the youth towards unity, integrity, and fitness.
The event witnessed over 75 energetic youngsters from different areas of Assar participating with great enthusiasm. The run covered a stretch of approximately 3 kilometers, starting from Assar Market and culminating at Model Public Academy Ground, Jathi. Throughout the route, participants carried slogans and placards promoting national integration, brotherhood, and harmony.
The top three runners were felicitated with cash prizes and appreciation certificates, acknowledging their outstanding performance and sportsmanship. All participants were provided with refreshments including juice, fruits, and water after the completion of the run.
Speaking on the occasion, the Station House Officer, Police Station Assar, lauded the spirit of the participants and emphasized that such events play a crucial role in instilling discipline, promoting fitness, and strengthening unity among youth. He further added that the event was a symbolic expression of the collective will to uphold the values of oneness, integrity, and patriotism envisioned by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The local community and school representatives also appreciated the efforts of Police Station Assar for organizing such a meaningful event that brought together youth and citizens to celebrate the essence of unity in diversity.
