Srinagar Police Attach ₹1.20 Crore Property of Drug Peddler

In a decisive move against drug trafficking, Srinagar Police attached immovable property valued at approximately ₹1.20 crore on Tuesday. This action targeted notorious drug peddler Nisar Ahmad Sheikh and aligns with the ongoing 100 Days Campaign under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.

Officers executed the property attachment under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act through Police Station Nowhatta. This action is part of investigations associated with FIR No. 61/2019, which involves violations of Sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act.

The confiscated assets include a fully renovated three-storey residential house, a separate single-storey concrete kitchen block that features three washrooms, as well as nine marlas of land. This property is located in the Kani Dewar area of Srinagar.

Authorities confirmed that investigations revealed the assets were acquired through illicit drug trafficking proceeds. Following thorough legal processes, police identified these properties as illegally obtained and subsequently proceeded with their attachment in accordance with the NDPS Act.

This significant action showcases the unwavering commitment of Srinagar Police to dismantle the financial framework supporting drug networks. Officials emphasized their determination to intensify operations against drug-related crimes.

Additionally, authorities have encouraged the public to cooperate in this fight. They urged citizens to share any relevant information related to drug abuse or trafficking, as every bit of intelligence can aid their operations.

The momentum for the Nasha Mukt J&K initiative reflects the local government’s broader strategy to combat the increasing menace of narcotics and protect the youth from the perils of substance abuse.

As the campaign progresses, local law enforcement continues to reiterate its stance against drug trafficking. Enhanced vigilance and community engagement remain central to their efforts in eradicating this social evil.
